A selection of 4-part score reading
exercises are listed opposite. These are in the form required for the Royal College of
Organists Fellowship exam, with Soprano, Alto and Tenor C-Clefs, and Bass F-Clef.
Some of the examples have part-crossing,
and be be easier or harder than the tests likely to be found in the current exam.
It is recommended that at first the tests
are played very slowly, and then repeated until they can be played confidently at a
realistic metronome mark. Tempo indications are deliberately omitted, but
lyrics are included to aid understanding of the style.
