A selection of 4-part score reading
exercises are listed opposite. These are in a similar format to the tests set for the
Royal College of Organists Associate Exam (ARCO) with G clef for Soprano, Tenor and
Alto, and with F-Clef for Bass.
Some of the examples have part-crossing,
but most do not.
It is recommended that at first the tests
are played very slowly, and then repeated until they can be played confidently at a
realistic metronome mark. Tempo indications are deliberately omitted, but
lyrics are included to aid understanding of the style.
